This site is dedicated to my parents - Russell Miles Sturges and Marion Irene Nelsen - whose pictures you see at right. It has grown, however, to include all ancestors and descendants of my grandparents - Miles William Sturges, Leila Loretta Minor, Ned Peter Nelsen, and Anna Hansina Busk - as well as all ancestors and descendants of my wife's grandparents - Frank Pitts Cooper, Anna Mae Harphant, John Peter Frank, and Mary Loretta O'Connor. Many thanks to those of you who have written to give me new or corrected information. As always, I welcome any corrections or additional information (including pictures) that you would like to see here. Or if you would like to write a "History/Biography" for one of the families on this site, I would be happy to post it.

Because of the growing problem with identity theft, it is not a good idea to make too much personal information available to the whole world (by posting it on these web pages). Therefore, as in the past, I have not posted birth dates and places or marriage dates and places for living individuals.

I use Ancestral Quest (Version 12, 2007) as my preferred genealogy program. I also have Family Tree Maker (Version 9, 2001) and an early version of Personal Ancestral File. I can also write GEDCOM files for use in other genealogy programs or I can create custom reports in ".pdf" (Adobe Acrobat) format.
