ANTON ERIC BENSON was born to Peter and Charlotta Milton Benson, April 10, 1900, in New York City. He came with his parents to southern Minnesota in 1903. They lived for a short time in Cottonwood County and then moved to their farm in Murray County in 1914. Anton was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Anton attended school in district 105, Murray County and attended Westbrook High School. On October 1, 1930 he married Amy Nelsen. He then took over his father's farm until 1961 when they retired and moved into Westbrook. Anton continued to help his son on the farm for many years. Anton also enjoyed wood-working and helped build Trinity Lutheran Church in the early 1950's. He served on the District 105 board until the school closed. Anton also served on the hospital board and both as deacon and trustee of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed a good visit with friends and neighbors. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandson.

Anton entered the Westbrook Good Samaritan Home in November of 1986 where he passed away April 6, 1988.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Milton.

Survivors include his wife, Amy, two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Carolyn, Westbrook, and Ronald and Eleanor, Buffalo, his grandchildren, Alan and wife Paula of Brooklyn Center, Lynn, Buffalo, Shelley, Marshall, Tammy, Glacial Ridge Training Center, Willmar and Eric, Canby, and one great grandson, Brandon, Marshall, one sister, Ester Bruning, Westbrook.
