The death of Jens Nelson occurred at 4 o’clock last Friday morning, Dec. 4, 1903, caused from heart failure. Mr. Nelson had suffered from heart trouble for many years, and a few weeks his condition was of a critical nature. He rallied, however, and for the past two weeks was growing rapidly better, being able to be up and around, and his death at this time was unlooked for.

Jens Nelson was born at Vogslev, Denmark, June 3, 1853; he came to America in 1872 settling in Illinois, where he resided for almost seventeen years, and then moving to Murray county, Minn., where he has since lived near Lake Eliza in Des Moines township. Was married Aug. 16, 1879, and his widow and eight children (5 boys and 3 girls) survive him, all being at home except one daughter who is now Mrs. F. W. Peterson.

The funeral took place from the Baptist church in this village Sunday afternoon; the crowd being so large that many were unable to gain admittance. A long procession of friends of the deceased followed to his last resting place in the village cemetery, testifying their respect for a true friend and neighbor. Jens Nelson was possessed of all the attributes of true manhood and good citizenship, and his death is sincerely mourned.

Mrs. Nelson and family request the SENTINEL to express their thanks to neighbors and friends for assistance rendered during the illness of the husband and father, and for the aid and sympathy so liberally given them since his death.
