Notes for Dora Albertina NODING



Dora Noding was boarn February 26, 1925 a while after her twin sister Nora was born. The twins were born at home with Grandmother Emilia Bethke Noding attending the birth. The Minister came a few days later to the house to baptize them. Dora was confirmed in the Rosehill Lutheran Church. She attended a country school and also Westbrook High School, graduating in 1943. She married Raymond Schmitz October 6, 1945. She and her husband farmed near his folks by Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Their son Clarence was born at Watertown, Minnesota where they farmed for a short time. Later they worked for Bernie Keegan of Maple Plain, Minnesota for many years. Her husband, Raymond Schmitz, was killed in an automobile accident May 1, 1959. He was buried in Maple Plain, Minnesota at the Armstrong Cemetery. Dora died of a heart attack and quadruple by-pass, she did not survive the surgery. Dora Noding was laid to rest next to her first husband, Raymond Schmitz.
