Notes for Alfred Louis NODING


Alfred Noding was born October 23, 1917 in the little two room farm home with his grandmother, Emilia Bethke Noding, acting as midwife. He frew to manhood on that farm in Rosehill Rownship in Minnesota, being confirmed in the Rosehill Lutheran Church and graduating from the Westbrook Public High School. He attended four year of Business Administration at the American Business College in Omaha, Nebraska. He paid for his room and board for college by working as busboy (cleaning tables) at the Henshaw Cafeteria on Douglas Street in Omaha. On July 11, 1943 he married Vera Ewy. After a few years of renting, he purchased a farm in Murray County and farmed till his death on June 4, 1975. In 1966, at the age of forty-nine, cancer was diagnosed. A colostomy was performed and he was in good health for about three years. The cancer recurred in his spince and he spent about four years confined to bed until his death. His son, Mark, continued to farm the family farm.
