William MINOR was born in New York 11 Sept 1793. Maria WEBB MINOR was born in New York City 21 Aug 1803. The couple were wed about 1822 or 23 and presumably lived for a while in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Their first four children were all born in Pittsfield.
Shortly after the birth of their fourth child Oliver Porter MINOR, the family moved to Monroe County, New York. According to a biography of Oliver, he lived in Monroe County from three years of age until sixteen. Oliver's biography states that in 1846 he settled in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Perhaps the rest of the family moved there a little earlier since the family's last child Charles Reuben MINOR was born in Wisconsin 24 February 1842.
William W. MINOR died 23 January 1850 in Menomonee, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. In the 1850 census, Maria (age 47) is living with her oldest son William (age 27). Also in the household are Oliver (age 19), Henry (age 17), Olivia (age 14), Jane (age 11), and Reuben (age 8). Interestingly, Oliver MINOR (age 20) is also listed in the household of John DENT (age 21) in this census. Helen M. DENT (age 17) and their mother Jane (age 51) are also members of this household.
By the 1860 census, Oliver is living with his wife Helen and farming in Green Lake County, Wisconsin. Harriet is living with her second husband Shellen MUZZY near Helen's brother James DENT in Waukesha County. William and Henry are also living near each other in Waukesha county.
Maria WEBB MINOR remained in this area and died 11 October 1888 in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
