History

Penelope WHITE was born at Rochester, Massachusetts, on 12 March 1687. On 31 May 1704 she married Peter (Pierre) CRAPO, who was born in Bordeaux, France, about 1671. His brother Nicholas was a Captain of a French Man of War, and in 1680 he took the boy Pierre on board without the knowledge or consent of their parents. They were cast away on the coast of Cape Cod. Nicholas returned to France promising to return for Pierre, but he never did. Peter CRAPO died at Rochester between 20 February and 1 May 1756. He married second at Rochester to Ann LUCE on 23 November 1738.
