Frank Pitts and Anna Mae Cooper, about 1920

Frank Pitts COOPER was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on 9 November 1876, the son of Benjamin Franklin COOPER and Susan GRINDLE COOPER. He had been employed as a maintenance engineer for the Frigidaire Plant Division of General Motors of Dayton for 26½ years before retiring in 1951. He was a 50-year member of the Cincinnati Price Hill Lodge No 524, Free and Accepted Masons. Frank Pitts COOPER was granted two patents: #811,547 for Tubular Boilers (Feb. 1906) and #2,166,751 for a Mechanical Pencil (July 1939).

Anna Mae HARPHANT was born in Springfield, Ohio, on 2 October 1901, the daughter of William Alfred HARPHANT and Viola HUFFMAN HARPHANT. She lived with her family in Springfield until age 3 or 4 and then moved to the Martin place just south of Springfield. Later, the family moved to the Brickle farm just north of Jamestown. She started her schooling at the Peacock School where her father attended when he was a little boy. Anna Mae HARPHANT COOPER was a member of the Clifton United Presbyterian Church, the Women's Auxiliary of the Clifton Fire Department and the Order of the Eastern Star, Antioch Chapter 445, Yellow Springs.

On 3 March 1920, Frank Pitts COOPER and Anna Mae HARPHANT were married in Springfield, Ohio. They had five children: Thelma Susan, born 28 December 1920; Greta Mae, born 4 January 1923; Anna Lucille, born 28 June 1924; Frank, born 15 May 1926; and Dorothy Louise, born 24 July 1931.

Frank Pitts COOPER died on 26 August 1966 of a cerebral thrombosis at the age of 89. Anna Mae HARPHANT COOPER died on 6 July 1979 at the age of 77. Both are buried in the Clifton Cemetery on the northwest corner of Clifton, Ohio.
